All I want is the moon upon a stick
Today, I downloaded the newly released Radiohead album ‘The King of Limbs’. I decided to tweet a single thought about each track as I listened. I am recording them here for posterity. Track 1 - Bloom. Sounds of ‘The Eraser’ instantly permeate. My arms resemble chicken skin. Track 2 - Morning Mr Magpie. Familiar cadence. My foot may be tapping a different beat, my...

Pale Blue Poem
Mars is all Red, Earth is Pale Blue, Look close that dot, For on it sits you. On the 14th February 1990 Voyager 1, having completed its primary mission, turned around to looked back at us and took this humbling image of the Earth. ‘A mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam’ - Carl Sagan

Earl
I’m typing this with my left hand, Earl is on my lap, his head on my hand, I have cramp. He is not well, still having trouble after a very traumatic week with frequent stays at the V.ery E.xpensive T.imeshare. I cannot bring myself to disturb him. The TV remote, on the floor, is just in reach of my left toes which so far have managed to select channels 111, 1_ _, 11_, 279 and 999. For...

An Intimate Shimmer
Sometimes you see a common shooting star, but then there is a time you see one, just exactly where you look, and it’s yours.

Angry Birds Seasons in the Android Market FREE
I had forgotten to get an advent calendar this year. Then along came Rovio with their new Angry Birds Seasons. Much more enjoyable than a badly moulded, snowflake sized drop of chocolate. (Link to Angry Birds Seasons in the Android Market)

ROFL T-Shirt features in IT Crowd
How chuffed was I when I found out that my ROFL/ROLF T-shirt design had be worn by Roy from IT Crowd season 4 episode 2 - The Final Countdown. I have long admired the work of Graham Linehan and to have something I created appear in something he created is something I am very proud of. So here is Roy displaying my proudness! :) ROFL

Dark Labyrinth
Physics is written in this grand book of the universe, which stands continually open to our gaze.  But the book cannot be understood unless one first learns to comprehend the language and to read the alphabet in which it is composed. It is written in the language of mathematics, and its characters are triangles, circles and other geometric figures, without which it is humanly impossible to...

'Your lagrange point'
In perfect poise I orbit with you. Bound by universal forces. Two eloquent ballroom dancers, separated by the vastness of space. Yet your gravity is too weak to pull me closer. I yearn for your celestial presence to gain mass and change my trajectory. Then as a beautiful flash in your night sky we would become one. Until then, I am trapped at your lagrange point.

Lost words.
The wind separates their voices. Her cries set sail absently on the breeze and drop anchor untold. Still, He embarks in eternal pursuit.

These lectures introduced me to the guy that I now consider to be one of my idols. His unique abilities in teaching opened my eyes to the world as I never knew existed. I hope they inspire you as much as they have inspired me.

The Last Question
The Last Question by Isaac Asimov © 1956 The last question was asked for the first time, half in jest, on May 21, 2061, at a time when humanity first stepped into the light. The question came about as a result of a five dollar bet over highballs, and it happened this way: Alexander Adell and Bertram Lupov were two of the faithful attendants of Multivac. As well as any human beings could, they...

Testicles, testicles, 1, 2
25 years ago I woke up in a hospital bed dreary, bleary eyed and a little ‘concerned’. I say this with hindsight, concerned was not a word that had entered my vocabulary at that stage as I was a young carefree child not more than 5 years old. The cause for my concern was a rather large swelling around my nether region. (Now please read on, I promise you this story is not offensive)...
